How the guide comes together.
Our guides link to official sources and show when details were checked. Local businesses and agents can submit information for review. A published feature does not mean I have personally visited or used that business; firsthand experience is labeled when it applies.
In the home and auto services directory, “Used by Mitch” identifies companies I’ve personally used. Other selections are based on research and reviews. None of those directory listings are sponsored.

What the food and coffee labels mean.
The town guides offer shortlists, usually three or four restaurants plus coffee stops. Each business keeps one profile with its actual town, even when it is also a useful nearby option. This is a starting point for a visit, not a ranking of every business in the area.
- Mitch’s pick: a personal recommendation Mitch has supplied. Woodlands is his first coffee pick, followed by Decadent.
- Review-based pick: published customer feedback informed the selection. It does not mean Mitch has visited.
- Researched listing: public information was checked to help you plan. It is not a personal or review-based endorsement.
Restaurant and coffee listings are unpaid. A useful profile explains the type of visit, location, service style, and where to find the current menu or contact the business. Owner quotes and firsthand tasting notes are included only when supplied and attributable.
What a check date tells you.
“Details checked” records a check of the entry’s public sources. It does not mean we visited or can guarantee today’s hours or prices. A displayed review score includes its source, review count, and separate check date. Scores are snapshots and stop displaying after 90 days unless checked again.
We change a check date when the information is checked, not just when the site is rebuilt. If a detail is uncertain, follow the official source or contact the business. Corrections belong on the existing profile so readers keep a stable link.
